As part of a prospect review, USI’s Transportation team evaluated the existing premium and coverage for a 150 power unit multi state trucking and warehousing account. The prospect was experiencing an increase in cargo losses costing over $75,000 annually, and was unable to cover these claims with the existing broker. Utilizing USI’s proprietary Omni solutions platform to analyze the prospects business needs, the transportation team reviewed over 20 potential gaps in their current coverage and showed the company how we could address coverage gaps such as temperature control and theft losses with minimum premium impact. After extensive market negotiation, USI was able to secure coverage options under corrective active conditions with five different cargo insurance providers. Furthermore, the final approved proposal provided not only additional coverage, but also lowered premiums by approximately $30,000 with enhanced services. In addition, USI suggested several tools that would help the client recruit and retain quality drivers.
