Value-Added Services to Help You Keep Up on Your HR To-Do List

NOVEMBER 7, 2023

Open enrollment is the busiest time of year for human resources and business managers, and it does not stop after the enrollment period ends. When the new plan year begins, employees inevitably have questions about their benefits and coverage issues. Employers also have other benefits responsibilities and compliance requirements throughout the year, which — if not met on time — may result in costly penalties and fines.

Each month, employers report spending:

Employers that need help balancing open enrollment, employees’ benefits questions, and daily administrative responsibilities often do not have the time or the resources to hire additional staff. USI Insurance Services offers a range of value-added solutions to help our employee benefits clients manage time-consuming HR, regulatory and benefits administration tasks.

Benefits Resource Center

Each year, HR and business managers are overwhelmed by employees’ questions about open enrollment, benefit plans and claims issues — and these increase significantly when employers make changes to their benefits offering. USI’s regional Benefits Resource Centers (BRCs) ease the burden by providing employees with a direct point of contact to answer benefits questions and help resolve claims issues with insurance carriers.1 Staffed by USI benefits specialists, the BRC provides dedicated advocacy and attention to our clients’ plan members, greatly improving employee satisfaction while significantly reducing HR’s involvement in repetitive day-to-day administrative tasks.

MyBenefits2Go

USI’s mobile app, MyBenefits2Go, gives employees and their dependents a convenient, centralized place to access and organize their benefits information. This includes plan details and benefits summaries, insurance ID cards, open enrollment resources, and educational information, as well as access to their regional BRC and insurance carrier contacts. Contact your local USI benefits consultant for a demo of the mobile app.2

Annual Service Calendar

Successful employee benefits management requires thoughtful planning and regular execution of numerous activities to meet regulatory requirements. Failing to meet deadlines and other requirements could result in significant penalties, and negatively impact employee satisfaction. USI’s service calendars help employers with strategic planning and timely communications, adhering to compliance requirements, and assisting with early renewal negotiations.

Mineral: HR & Compliance Support

HR teams spend over half their time on administrative tasks, such as developing employee policies and handbooks, searching for forms, developing job descriptions and determining salaries, conducting required trainings, and ensuring compliance with new and changing regulatory requirements. USI’s employee benefits clients have access to Mineral, a cloud-based platform that provides resources and expert support so HR teams can focus more on strategic initiatives and problem-solving and spend significantly less time on these administrative tasks.3
